The U12 ALL-STARS kicked off their new season in style with an exciting trip to Chelsea’s world-class Cobham Training Ground, where they faced the highly regarded Chelsea Future Blues programme. As expected, the match was fiercely competitive from the first whistle, played at a quick tempo that reflected the quality and ambition of both sides.
Chelsea struck first with a neatly worked set piece, showing their technical class and sharp movement in the box. However, the ALL-STARS responded superbly, displaying resilience and determination. From a well-delivered corner, Cristian Sabau rose bravely to meet the cross, heading home the equaliser and setting the tone for what would become an outstanding team performance.
Buoyed by that goal, the ALL-STARS grew in confidence and began to take control of the game. Their pressing, movement, and passing sequences began to open up spaces, and soon the goals followed. Maksim struck twice with composed finishes, while Cristian added his second of the game to complete an impressive brace. Captain Josh Smith also got in on the act, leading by example with a well-taken goal that extended the lead to 5–1.
Despite a late push from the Chelsea side, who mounted an energetic onslaught in the closing stages, the ALL-STARS defended with discipline and spirit. They conceded only a late consolation, holding firm to secure a deserved and hard-fought 5–2 victory.
The progress and growth shown by this group since last season is already clear to see. Their maturity, teamwork, and belief continue to develop, leaving coaches, players, and supporters alike excited for what promises to be a thrilling season ahead.
