Playermaker FAQs

What equipment is needed and how do the sensors attach to the boots?

The Playermaker 2.0 system is remarkably simple. The kit consists of two lightweight sensor housing straps and the Playermaker sensors themselves. The sensor straps are designed to fit snugly and securely around the middle of each boot, near the laces. They are worn discreetly, ensuring they do not interfere with ball control or the player’s movement. They are also weather-resistant and built to withstand the rigours of intense match play and training.

How is the data collected, and how do players view their performance metrics?

The Playermaker sensors automatically collect performance data throughout the session. Once the session is complete, players simply remove the sensors and sync them via Bluetooth to the dedicated Playermaker mobile app. The app provides players and parents with immediate access to a detailed dashboard. This dashboard visualises all the key metrics, including total distance, sprint distance, foot-to-ball interactions, and speed, allowing players to compare their performance over time and benchmark against others.

Is the Playermaker 2.0 system safe and approved for match use?

Yes, absolutely. The Playermaker 2.0 system is FIFA-approved (carrying the IMS certification). This means it has undergone rigorous testing and meets the high standards required for use in official match environments. The sensors are non-invasive, lightweight, and worn externally on the boot, making them safe for players of all ages within the JPL ALL-STARS programme.

I don't have a 2.0 device, will I get a new one?

The device is updated over-the-air like your mobile phone updates.
