We are seeking to expand our team and require a dynamic, skilled Social Media Communications Strategist who ideally has knowledge and a passion for football, both youth, and adult.
Job description/ main responsibilities:
To ensure that the JPL’s information and communication methods are effective, customer-centered, and responsive.
Create and deliver innovative social strategies.
Create eye-catching content, in the form of engaging copy and images, perfect grammar and spelling are a must.
Manage various JPL group accounts across all social media platforms.
Researches and monitors the activity of company competitors.
Creates and distributes engaging written or graphic content in e-newsletters, web pages, blog content, and social media content.
To ensure that information on the website is current, relevant, and updated promptly; to support other e-communications as directed, ensuring the correct adoption of the relevant tone of voice and language appropriate to all publications.
To help produce media releases and content and to update and maintain the media database and help nurture media relationships.
To take responsibility for activity hosted via JPL social media channels, ensuring social content is prepared, shared, and monitored across all social media channels, predominantly, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
To actively plan and create interesting, relevant, and captivating campaigns to be shared across social media channels, showing an understanding of the subject matter and audience engagement priorities.
To support the promotion of the services of the JPL’s sponsors and partners, consistently monitoring, editing, and utilising the content calendar and software; and to support the promotion and services of the JPL’s clubs and provide help with social media to them.
To develop strategies to identify and then work with advocates for the JPL Group, to develop “brand” loyalty.
To regularly gather and analyse social, print, and visual media analytics and coverage and then identify and then act upon opportunities to increase the JPL Group’s profile.
To attend and assist with JPL Group events as and when required, including the promotion, coverage, and round-ups of all events to ensure consistent promotion across all aspects of the organisation’s event spectrum.
Assist with the development of JPL’s YouTube channel and subsequent activity.
To continue development of the JPL’s Public Relations strategy; particularly regarding past players and engaging with them as ambassadors.
To participate in training, development, and appraisal processes necessary to fulfil the role.
To act with high standards of professionalism, business integrity, and personal conduct at all times.
To act as an ambassador for the JPL Group in the conduct of all business.
To comply with the JPL Group’s safeguarding requirements and to contribute to the delivery of the JPL Group’s safeguarding plans.
To use best endeavours to support others in the achievement of their objectives.
To conduct any other duties as may reasonably be required by the employer.
Special considerations in this role:
The role will involve evening and weekend work, for which the post holder will be entitled to time off in lieu. Some national travel may be necessary (expenses will be paid).
Essential skills and qualifications:
Degree in marketing, event management, sport management, or a related business discipline
Data collection and analysis
Attention to detail
High levels of literacy

A will to work flexibly
Demonstrable experience in leading and improving social media content, profile, or methods
Demonstrable experience of analysing the impact of social media activity to plan for improvements
Desirable Qualifications & skills
Videography, editing, or design experience
An appreciation of the principles and concepts of working to support a membership organisation
An understanding of the market sensitivities of working in an environment providing services for children
Experience in working with commercial sponsors
Pay: Starting from £24,000 pa
Hours: Full time
Holiday: 23 days per year including festive period and public holidays rising to a maximum of 28 days, plus bank holidays
