Match Report

Stoke RTC U15's v Stourbridge FC U15's

I must start with both teams parents must be extremely proud of the game played between two very good footballing teams.

The 0-0 score line seems the game lacked goal scoring chances but this is not the case and both teams tested each others goalkeepers on many occasions. Stoke had the majority of possession but Stourbridge probably created the better scoring chances.

The wind didn’t help anyone today more so the attacking team or strikers, however with the wind behind Stoke the majority of the opportunities fell to us. Stourbridges GK made several saves early on but most of these shots were straight at him.

Stourbridge produced good movement from the back to front but Stokes defence was somewhat resilient throughout the game. The best way to deal with these conditions would have been to keep the ball on the floor but there were occasions when the long ball did allow both teams to move away from their own goal.

Both keepers have pulled of two fantastic saves and should be applauded for this.

Both defenses had to work hard against two attacking football-playing midfields.

Stoke RTC players, parents and staff wishes Stourbridge the best for the remainder of the season and good luck against the Wirral next week.
