MATCH REPORT: Blues South West 3 Paulton Rovers 1
A welcome return to the JPL league roster saw Blues South West fend off a spirited challenge from Paulton Rovers.
The lead came for the Blues in the 2nd quarter - But only after a last ditch defensive tackle from Blues winger Harvey Orchard stopped a great Paulton opportunity - It came from a concise cross into the striker from Ben Langley which was finished off by the irrepressible Jacob Loten who is beginning to return to his best after a spell out through injury.
A second came early after half-time with Tyler Bell curling a left foot strike beyond the reach of the impressive Paulton keeper - A third followed shortly after from a well worked free-kick... Bell over to Collings who headed back across goal to find Luke Manuel who tucked the ball away neatly for a 3-0 lead.
Paulton were always in the game and never dropped their heads - They struck back to 3-1 with a superb cross which was expertly finished and may have set up a grandstand finish if it hadn’t been for an excellent one-on-one save from Blues keeper Olly Sidey.
Another excellent game played in a good spirit by both teams and we at Blues South West wish the Paulton team, coaches and parents a safe trip home and best wishes for the rest of the season.
