Blues South West v Torquay United - Match report

Another fascinating local derby down at Ashburton where weather and pitch conditions dictated the battling style of play that both teams adopted - The first real chance falling to Torquay from the penalty spot but the effort was struck high.

The second period saw Blues South West take the lead with a high looping effort from winger Luke Manuel. The game continued in much the same vein with high intensity battling in all areas of the pitch... A fantastic last ditch tackle from Blues John Agpoon denying Tate Aggrey and at the other end a great stop from Torquay keeper Cody Ironside saving neatly from Blues striker Jacob Loten.

Torquay grabbed an equaliser deep in the fourth period although there was a hint of an handball that was missed by the Ref - However it was finished very well by the Torquay player.

The game played out for a 1-1 draw  and all the lads who participated should be very happy with themselves for delivering such a great effort in challenging conditions. Physicality, determination and desire won out today over neat, crisp tidy football but a very entertaining game all the same. Good luck to Torquay for the rest of the season.
