Match Report Solihull Academy v Stourbridge
Big score line at Solihull, so big that the author of this lost count of what went on, where and when!
Solihull Academy came away with no points from a match that they could have fought harder for, sadly it was not their day with Stourbridge FC thumping home 14!
It started badly for Solihull, with their only 2 substitutes having to be used within the first quarter, due to two injuries that took Harry Jones and Jack McPherson out of play the rest of the game.
Stourbridge started with an opening goal within the first 5 minutes, closely followed by a second, then a third. Solihull had a great goal opportunity in the second quarter, that hit both sides of the goal posts, along with the cross bar and even the opposition manager said the ball had crossed the line, unfortunately the powers that be didn’t see it that way and played the game on! However, when it’s not happening, it’s not happening and unfortunately Solihull didn’t get out of second gear throughout the game. Although at some point during game, Amadu Isaac, scored a lovely header form a corner kick into the top right corner of the Stourbridge goal.
A 14 - 1 win for Stourbridge FC, so a big well done to them and despite their lacklustre performance, there were some positives for Solihull to take forward into their upcoming fixtures. With Josh Hateley having an outstanding game, showing grit and determination from start to finish.
