Saints Somerset und 13s v North Somerset
Hi and welcome to you all today for our game against North Somerset at Huish Episcopi.
The first quarter kicked off on a wet and chilly day to both teams playing good passing football and good pressure from Will Armstrong resulted in a goal for Luke Soanes to make it 1-0. This raised North Somersets game and they came close with a shot that just went wide not really troubling Oliver Saunders. Noah Al-sedani then played a through ball which Jamie Pitter ran onto and slotted past the keeper with ease to make it 2-0. No sooner had that gone in North Somerset made it 2-1 and continued to press until the end of the quarter.
The second quarter then started off in the same way and Will Armstrong found himself some space to smash the ball into the roof of the net to make it 3-1 to Saints. Then the game changed and Saints started to lose a bit of confidence and shape. Charlie Tout tried his luck from distance and James W Barciela also hit the bar. Then came three quick goals from North Somerset from some great passing and through balls to lead at half time 3-4 not before James W Barciela hit the bar again from 30 yards.
The third had to start bright for Saints and Jamie Pitter again with great skill and finishing made it 4-4 and put the Saints on the front foot. North Somerset then kept up a bit of pressure and just missed a chance on the goal line. Then that man again Jamie Pitter then made it 5-4 with a neat finish into the bottom corner and Saints had the lead again. North Somerset were playing well and trying to get that equiliser that came right on the whistle with a neat finish just inside the post for a 5-5 and finally balanced going into the final quarter. The fourth started and both teams pushing to win Luke Soanes then put away a one on one with the keeper to make it 6-5 to Saints who after that defended well until Drew Sloan pulled a shirt in the box and a penalty was awarded and 6-6 was the final score. Hope you all had a safe journey home and hope to see you at the return fixture soon. Chris.
