Gloucester were hoping to put recent performances behind them as they entertain high flying W.B.A.
This wasn’t going to be easy but the coaching staff & supporters were hoping see a better team performance. From the kick off Gloucester give the ball away but hit long down the field and then finding themselves defending from should have been a positive position.
It look like it was going to be another tough time when on 3mins Logan Weyman shoot home from close range. Here we go again thought the crowd and staff, especially as did same from the kick off as they need to start the game. W.B.A. Started to press more and continue to put the home side defence under pressure. In passed weeks a second would have followed but not today because there seemed belief in the home side.
As it stayed at 1-0 the home side started to attack a very good Albion team. To the rewards Harry Noblet almost scored from a free kick when his shoot rattled the bar. The away were always a threat but the found a solid defence and keeper determined to keep them out. Sadly with 5 mins to go cruel luck hit Glos, the Albion striker shoot which was saved by the keeper but only to see it hit his teammate and go into the back of the net.
With new hope the home side started the second quarter in better mood. Albion still had more of the ball and continue to look dangerous on the attack but Glos start to put the away side defence under pressure to and therekeeper was called in action to preserve there lead, then for the goal of the game when Weyman took aim from 20yds out and fired it in giving the home side keeper no chance.
Still with belief the home started the second half (3quarter) in good spirts but this quarter was going to be one to forget and back to old ways except for a bit of magic from the home striker. Albion struck after 3mins through Adi Keena Adichareh then a second followed on 10mins from Findlay Ranklin, the signs didn’t look good but Olly Hambling who had pressed the away keeper and defence for most of game and got his reward when latching onto a short pass to fire home. Here we go thought the home fans but no within a minute Albion got a third through Francesco Cherchi then fourth by Jack Hollingsworth within another minute. A quarter to forget.
4Quarter was a 5 goal thriller both teams played some cracking football, last ditch tackles, great saves and great strikes. This was what we has coaches enjoy, seeing our players enjoying playing and expressing themselves. In the this thriller there could have been more, sadly for Glos the away side took the honours with goals from Adichareh with his second, Joshus Barclay and Cherchi with his second. The Gloucester goals came from Hambling who completed his hat-trick.
This was not the result Glos wanted but the performance was excellent
