Gloucester entertained RTC North Somerset A, hoping to continue their good performances of late.
Unfortunately it didn’t start well for City who were a goal down within 2mins when Luke Attwell slammed the ball home from the edge of the box following a corner.
With RTC starting well they put more pressure onto the City defence but for now bodies were thrown in the way of the ball. Gloucester then settled into the game and started to mount some attacks of there own. On one attack a Olly Hambling was fouled in the area but the ref allowed a indirect free to the amazement of all. This would be one of many strange decisions throughout the game. The game was an even contest and just before the break Olly made another run into the box and was taken down PENALTY! Olly picked himself up and slotted home 1-1.
Second quarter was again an even contest with both side playing good football and with some good half chances. The second quarter deadlock was broke just before the break when City had a free kick and unfortunately committed too many players forward and RTC broke quickly and Jack Neal out run the City defence to slot home.
Now kicking slightly down the slope and with the wind behind them they believe they could get the goal back. Boy were they wrong, and a quarter to forget. City didn’t seem to get started and when Jacks Richards free kick floated over the head of the City keeper the wheels came off and the home players heads dropped slightly. The RTC players continued to pressure the city side and got their reward with a mess of a goal when Sam Dixey shoot seemed to be saved but in the resulting scramble it crossed the line 1-4.
The fourth quarter start an City were hopping to salvage some proud by getting back into the game, this was a much improved performance to start with but has the quarter went on it became scrappy and challenges were either not given or a strange outcome. Just before the end RTC broke down the left and fired the ball accross and the helpless Dylan Bhatti could only see the ball hit him and go into the back of the net.
Good contest between both sides first half and RTC up their game second half and City struggled at important times when needed.
Forget this week and work hard in training and ready for the next game
