NS RTC v FC WILTS
NS RTC U12s welcomed FC Wiltshire to the EA Stadium in Clevedon, in what turned out to be a fantastic advert for JPL football in a pulsating game played in atrocious conditions!
NS began quickly and were out of the blocks immediately creating several clear-cut chances both from open play and set pieces. Unfortunately, they were unable to make their dominance count and the 1st quarter ended 0-0.
The 2nd quarter was very similar with both teams playing similar formations, at times cancelling each other out. NS went ahead from another corner after sustained pressure, when Joe Smith scored with a well taken header. However, this only resulted in Wiltshire applying the pressure and soon equalised with a well taken goal from long range by Ethan Scarff. In a crazy three-minute spell NS slightly lost their composure allowing Wiltshire to score a second with a well taken strike from Harry Cottrell to make it 2-1 to Wilts at HT. (Thanks to NS secretary Steve Arney for the much appreciated hot drinks at HT!!)
The 3rd quarter was another 0-0, with NS failing to take their chances when in good positions, leaving an all to play for final quarter.
NS cranked up the pressure and laid siege on the Wiltshire goal in search of an equaliser. Their pressure was duly rewarded when Alex Boyd drilled in low under the keeper. Boyd was soon at it again with a sublime strike from long range sailing over the keeper nestling in the top corner. Smith capped off a dominant NS performance with a well taken fourth.
NS would like to wish FC Wilts all the best for the rest of the season.
