Match Report

Thriller in the frost!!

Both teams began their league campaign for 2019 in the cold and frost. BCS started very brightly and could have scored 2 or 3 in the first few minutes but for some wayward finishing. It would be true to say that BCS dominated possession for the first 30 minutes but could break the deadlock and as always, the longer you don't finish the danger of a counter is always on. Sussex broke into the box and with the slightest touch, the BCS defender bundle do over the striker for a penalty, which was almost kept out but keeps in after a big hand from Jamie White. Against the run of play, Sussex were up. BCS once again tried to play Andy kept most of the ball in the Sussex half but again, a counter attack ended in another penalty for Sussex and was dispatched perfectly. 0-2 to the visitors.

BCS had to respond positively and trusted in the football they were playing and finally the goals came with Danny Macy and James Black scoring. Jay Charman scored a third for the home team as they finally went ahead after some prolonged attacking football. Sussex were reduced to 10 men late in the game after a straight red was issued but the away team took advantage of BCS goalkeeper slipping on the frost to tuck the ball into the empty net. It truely was game on at 3-3 and was set up for a final flourish with BCS pressing high to get the winner, and it was captain Macy who got the winner, a fantastic team effort. Both teams faught really hard and deserved the hot grub served after the game. Thanks to all from Sussex for an entertaining game
