Match Report

Vauxhall Motors (U12) vs Sollihull

In horrendous weather conditions this game was about as even as it gets. The game started with both teams doing extremely well to deal with the conditions and Solihull took a lead when a long range free kick sailed into the top corner with huge assistance from the strong wind. Vauxhalls reacted well, but Solihull could easily doubled their lead before Vauxhalls levelled and took tghe lead a few minutes before half time.

The second half was evenly contested with both teams failing to convert numerous chances. With three  minutes to go Solihull equalised when the Solihull player ( no.15), literally dribbled from his own half, beating 7 Vauxhall players before firing home! With penalties looming, Vauxhalls scored with a minute to go to clinch it in dramatic fashion.

It has to be said that neither team deserved to lose and the weather was certainly a major factor in the boys performance levels. Both teams were intent on playing football despite the challenge of the weather. Well done to all.
