Match Report

Corby v Birmingham City

Corby welcomed Birmingham City to Steel Park.  Despite the blustery conditions, a great playing surface enabled both teams to play some great football.

Corby settled quickly and took an early lead, before a well worked free-kick saw Birmingham draw level.  Just before the end of the period, Corby restored their lead when a flowing move was finished at the back post.

The second period saw Corby squander several great opportunities before a composed finish made it 3, with number 4 following soon after.

Corby began to move through the gears and their pace and movement was causing constant problems.  4 more goals followed in period 3.

Several superb team goals came in the final period, with Corby showing the clinical finishing that has been a feature of their season.

To their credit, Birmingham battled to the end.
