FC Wiltshire and Pro Football Academy served up a thrilling U14 cup tie at Beversbrook.
PFA dominated the opening periods, retaining possession well and giving FCW no time to play. FCW stood firm and kep working hard and it wasn't until 10 mins before the break until the deadlock was broken with a fantastic strike from distance to give PFA a much deserved lead.
Conceding seemed to take the shackles off of FCW however and started to enjoy some better phases of play in possession. After winning possion in midfield, a quick through ball resulted in a 2v2 situation for FCW, which Ben Cleary finished superbly from a tight angle.
The second half was equally competitive with PFA the more assured team in possession, however FCW made the game more balanced with positive play in the PFA half. It was PFA that took the lead again through another fantastic strike from distance that would be worthy of winning ahy game. Just when it looked like the game was onver, the tireless Jack Smith won possession on the edge of the PFA box and stroked home to make it 2-2 with only minutes to play.
A fantastic game in normal time and both sets of players can be proud of their performances.
PFA dominated the penalty shoot-out to make it into the next round.
From all at FCW we wish PFA the best of luck in the next round, and thank you to players, coaches and parents for making the incredibly long trip to Wiltshire.
