WHU v Gloucster RTC
West ham welcomed their visitors from the South West on a well weathered Saturday morning and the scene was set for a great game.
The match started in favour of the visitors, who had a few attacks and played some good football, causing problems for West Ham in the first quarter.
At the start of the second quarter WHU started to find their feet and put together some good attacks, only to be thwarted by an in form Gloucestershire Goal Keeper.
However, WHU's good attacking play got rewarded on 29 minutes when Joe Burns put the home team 1-0 up, with his persistence in front of goal finally paying off.
The possession for the rest of that quarter and the next, were in favour of WHU and they were able to get a two goal cushion with an absolute stunner of a header from Callum Fisher. A great team goal with the ball being played nicely from the defensive third into the attacking third and falling at the feet of Samual Keys, who put in a perfectly placed cross onto the head of Callum who controlled the ball brilliantly and looped it up and over the head of the Gloucestershire GK.
WHU had many more chances and were kept out by the GK who was arguably the away teams player of the match.
The away team got a consolation goal in the last 5 minutes of the game and although they fought hard to get that equaliser, WHU kept calm and held on for the win.
A great game of football to watch, well done to both teams.
