Match Report

Cirencester Town 3 Blues South West 1

Cirencester welcomed Blues South West to The Corinium Stadium for their 1st every encounter. Playing on the main stadium Cirencester started brightly with a 1st early chance with the visting keeper making a good block. You could see both teams wanted to get the ball down and play on the deck. Cirencester broke the deadlock on 13 minutes when Matt Ashman broke through and slotted home.

The 2nd quarter was fairly even with both teams cancelling each other out. Bilal Durdu was working hard up top and had a good effort well saved by the Blues keeper.

Start of period 3 was pretty much the same as the last period. But then there was 3 goals in the last 8 minutes which was exciting end to this period. Bilal found the net 1st to extend Cirencester’s lead but Blue South West bounced straight back a few minutes later when they broke through the middle. Then Colby Kemper struck an unstoppable shot into the top right corner a minute from the end of this 3rd period to extend Cirencester’s 2 goal lead.

Cirencester managed to stand firm in the last period to see the game out.

The game was played in good spirit and Blues players , coaches and parents were a pleasure to have at the Corinium stadium and wish them well for the rest of the season.
