U15s Elite South
An excellent Elite South JPL fixture and clear insight as to why both sides are in the Elite league.
(1st Quarter) Bucks looked sharp from the start, winning the early midfield battles in an end to end game. Having dominated the first 10 mins and only the post and some brilliant saves from the Evesham goalkeeper preventing Bucks taking an early lead, the next ten minutes saw Evesham peg Bucks back, which brought the best out the defenders.
(2nd Quarter) The opening goal came early in the second quarter, a self-confessed missed placed kick from the Bucks keeper luckily landed at the Bucks strikers feet and despite still having plenty to do, finished emphatically. A quick 1, 2, 3 blitz saw Bucks command a convincing lead as they were awarded a penalty after some great work in the box, which forced a missed timed tackle. A third came shortly after as the ball rattled around in the box, both the keeper and defenders unable to make the clearance, allowing the Bucks winger to poke home.
(3rd Quarter) Tactical changes from both sides, adapting to the flow of the game, ensuring both teams fully respected the threat the opposition posed to each other. A fourth goal came deep in the 3rd quarter, as lightning quick reactions from the Bucks striker drew the impressive Evesham keeper to charge down a lose ball, but it was the striker who nicked in to touch the ball first. A third penalty was seemingly on the cards as the onrushing Bucks fullback was upended in the box, but referee did not give a penalty.
(4th Quarter) With the 3 points seemingly secured, Evesham pushed hard to get something from the game; the Bucks defence stood its ground, hitting on the counter attack and only being denied a 5th goal thanks to some more incredible goalkeeping and heroic defending from the outstanding opposition Number 8.
Full Time - Bucks RTC 4 - 0 Evesham United
Evesham United were so unlucky not to get on the score sheet this game, bringing out a solid performance from the Bucks defence and battling midfield. We have no doubt they will score plenty in the coming games and prove outstanding opposition to all those in the JPL National Elite South division.
