BIC 3-3 Fab Fc
BIC welcomed Fab Fc to Bristol for their first meeting and a game that would go a long way to deciding the top league position in Elite South.
BIC made a really strong start to the game and took the game to the away side and took an early lead when Andy Williams looped a cross to the back post for Owen Humphries to volley home. More pressure followed and Miguel Freckleton made it 2-0 when a shot was pushed into his path to finish well.
FAB certainly improved in Q2 and started to push BIC back in their defensive third and a good spell of pressure paid off when a foul on the edge of the penalty area saw a free kick. This was experts curled into the bottom corner to end Q2 2-1.
Q3 was an even contest that was end to end but towards the end of the period a will Ashton corner was met by Owen Humphries to get his second and make it 3-1 to BIC.
With FAB chasing the game in Q4 they did put the BIC defence under significant pressure and started to force some set pieces in and around the penalty box.
FAB got their second when a free kick was again curled into the top right hand corner. The equaliser was not far behind when FAB were awarded a penalty for a needless trip in the box which was well converted. Either side could have scored a winner in the closing stages but the game finished 3-3.
This was a great advert for youth football and a game played with real passion and quality from both sides. BIC may count themselves unfortunate not to take the three points having had such a good lead but a great comeback from FAB saw a fair result.
We wish FAB all the best in their remaining games and thank them for a great game today.
