Stoke Rtc 2-3 Rushall Olympic
Stoke RTC welcomed Rushall Olympic to Newcastle College on a sunny Saturday morning. The first quarter began evenly, with both sides enjoying spells of possession. It was Rushall that demonstrated a clinical edge, finishing off the chances that they created, ending the quarter 2-0 up. Stoke took heart from the fact that most of the play had been in the opposition half, and were perhaps unlucky to find themselves 2-0 behind.
The second quarter continued in a similar manner, but with Stoke pushing to narrow the deficit. They did pull one back after a successful high press from Elliot Westernborg, who finished cooly.
Stoke pushed for an equaliser in the third quarter, but found themselves a further goal behind after poor defending from a Stoke side that had shown a much improved performance from last week. Rushall again showed a clinical edge to make it 3-1.
The game ended with Stoke hitting the post from a free kick from Joe Lee, before Kane Alcock finally pulled a further goal back to finish the game Stoke RTC 2-3 Rushall Olympic.
We would like to wish Rushall the best of luck for the rest of the season. It was a pleasure to play against a team so brave in possession throughout the game, trying to play the right way.
