Match Report

Stourbridge come out on top

Gloucester City entertained Stourbridge on the 21st September on the new Hartpury 3G pitch.

Stourbridge took the early advantage playing some neat football and raced into a lead. However the game was marred by a horrific injury to Gloucesters Joe Nicholas, who suffered a double break and dislocation to his ankle. This affected the Gloucester players as they struggled to gey there passing game going.

The second half started brightly for the home side as they began put some good combination play together, which helped them create a number of chances, but Stourbridge always looked dangerous and were able to catch City out a couple of times. Gloucester lost another player in the 3rd quarter to another bad tackle, but they didnt lose their heads and kept trying to play the football. In the final quarter Gloucester really played some good football with Aran Ratanandan causing Stourbridge all sorts of problems from wing back.

Gloucester had some stand out performances in particular from Lewis Ford and Ellis Clifford at the back, while Aran Ratnanadan worked the left side well and Sam Viner causing problems for the away defence.

A lot of positivies from the second half performance from Gloucester City.
