Match report

Firstly, thank you to Weston for coming down to put on a great game of football. With the wind playing a big factor in today's game for both sides both teams played well with and without the wind.

The 1st quarter started sharply for saints, providing an effective press putting weston under pressure. Making it difficult to play out from the back. Likewise Weston also using an effective high press which worked well in stages winning the ball high up the pitch It took 20 minutes for the first goal to be scored, in which a penalty was given to saints and Eddie Carrillo converted for his first goal for saints.

As the second quarter was underway, both teams stuck to their gameplan. 12 minutes into the second quarter saw Stanley jenkins find space on the edge of the box and smashed it into the roof of the net. 4 minutes later a clearance from a corner fell to Louie Ward who took a strike towards goal deflecting off Wess Jenkins for the 3rd of the game.

The 3rd quarter Weston came out firing and fighting back, providing some great football and more tempo to the press. With Weston having 3/4 chances to score some great saves from Freddy larmar denied them a goal. However on the 59th minute after some intricate passing, Weston found the net with a good finish from their player, 3-1.

As the 4th quarter started, Weston came out firing from the blocks! Increasing the tempo again, pressing higher and faster. However saints managed to counter and score through a finish from Jonathan Thorne at 65 minutes in. 1 minute later, Johnathon Thorne ran through sliding the ball into the bottom corner another good finish making it 5-1 to saints. Weston never backed down which was fantastic to see and as they kept to their script and didnt drop their heads, 70 minutes in, weston found their goal by a cross which was mis-cleared found the back of the net by a pro-active Weston attacker, 5-2. 2 minutes later, weston kept piling on the pressure and they were rewarded again with a  great strike flying into the top corner making the game and finishing 5-3.

All the best to Weston for the rest of the season and safe journey home.
