YTCST 7 - Taunton Town 1
YTCST started the game on the front foot and got into a good passing rhythm quickly. It was some good passing through the midfield that created the first goal for Yeovil. After some good combinations Yeovil were put through on goal, and well saved shot rebounded to Kian Simms who composed himself and calmed passed the ball into the net. Taunton Town responded well and got themselves back into the game with a great shot from outside the box to equalise.
YTCST started to take control in the second period by scoring 3 goals. The 1st of the three in this period was scored by Jaydon Biss who was making his debut. Jaydon showed great composure inside a busy penalty area to create a shooting opportunity and pass the ball into the net. The second goal in this period was scored by another debutant in Riley Clarke. Riley found a good position just inside the 6 yard box from a corner. The ball took a couple of deflections and landed at the feet of Riley who didn't panic and cooly slotted past the Taunton Town GK. Kadyn Waycott rounded up a good period for Yeovil by scoring a very well taken goal by cutting in on his right foot and passing the ball around the keeper into the far corner.
Taunton Town showed good determination and didn't give up in the third period. Their efforts were almost rewarded on break away when they went through on goal. If it wasn't for a double save from Callum Abbott, Taunton would of pulled a goal back. Yeovil continued to pass the ball well and were rewarded with a superb strike from outside of the box from Kadyn Waycott to score his second of the game. Morgan Alexander also added to the scoresheet with a well taken free kick from outside the box.
Taunton Town worked extremely hard, however in the fourth period their legs were starting to get heavy and allowed Yeovil more space. This resulted in Yeovil scoring one more goal. It's scored by Kian Simms who started it all off with a tidy side footed finish to score his second of the game.
Both teams did extremely well and played with lots of effort. I wanted to give a special mention to the Taunton Town GK who did a great job and made some great saves.
Well done both teams!
