Match Report

Torquay 4-1 Weston S-M

Torquay United U15s built on their victory last week with another win, this time against Weston Super-Mare on a blustery day in Paignton.

Torquay went into a 2 goal lead in the first quarter, after Sam Bishop scored a free kick and Alfie Lloyds drove home a second goal from outside the box.

It was soon 3-0 as Niall Gagg headed home from a free kick, while at the other end Weston had their best chance of the match foiled by Lloyd Marshall in goal.

The visitors got on the scoresheet in the third quarter, when they headed home from a corner, but Torquay got straight back on the front foot. The following 10 minutes saw Weston have a real go and cause a threat to Torquay’s lead, but then the referee reduced Weston to 10 men, for a rash tackle.

Torquay managed to restore a bit of calm, and added a fourth goal in the final stages. Credit to Weston who continued to fight well after the dismissal and were again foiled late on by Marshall in goal.
