Saints Southwest Somerset v Saints Southwest Devon
Welcome to a game from the same teams different areas on a windy/wet sort of day at Castle School 3G.
The first quarter started really well for Devon with some good direct play that resulted in Jacob Wells scoring. No sooner had they scored that goal then another great chance was taken by Farron who made it 2-0. Saints Somerset seemed to be like a rabbit in the headlights not being able to get control of the ball and just kept giving it away to Saints Devon. With that Jacob Wells had another shot on goal that Archie Giddy seemed to let slip through his grasp and into the net for 3-0 Devon. Jamie Pitter then had a chance that just went wide which was one of the only times Somerset got a clear shot on goal.
The second quarter with Somerset 3-0 down had to try and salvage something, which they probed and tried to create chances with no real success. Saints Devon with their quick passing and movement created a goal for Sam Clifton who smashed the ball high into the net. Devon were now creating several good chances and from a cross Drew Sloan scored an own goal to make it 5-0. Somerset never gave up and Brad Carpenter had free kick saved and Charlie Tout had a free kick scrambled away. Slowly Somerset started to get into the game.
The third quarter started better for Somerset Saints and keeping Devon from scoring tried hard to get crosses and shots on goal but nothing clear cut. Good saves from Archie Giddy who was definatly the busier keeper. This quarter ended with no more goals and we go into the last quarter still at 5-0.
The last quarter with Somerset realising a little bit to late that they can cause the opposition problems created some good crossing chances and a free kick from Charlie Tout came back out to him who smashed the ball across and an OG for 5-1 to Devon. Jamie Pitter then had a 1v1 and put it over the bar. Pushing to try and get more goals Somerset left gaps at the back and Seb Marshall made it 6-1 after several chances missed by Kelson and Charlie Muir.
Well done Devon hope you all had a safe journey home. See you all soon.
