Saints Southwest v Weston Super Mare
Welcome to you all today on a nice morning in Langport for the game against Weston Super Mare.
First quarter started disaterous for Saints inside 45 seconds they were 1-0 down from a direct pass and lay off for a shot on goal. Then with Saints trying to adjust and having the scenario of being 1-0 down it was 2-0 from a strong run and pass that allowed time in the box for a free shot 2-0. Saints were still in the changing rooms and slowly started to get a bit of joy with the ball creating a few chances. Just as time was coming to an end of the quarter a 35 YARD SCREAMER flew in the side netting to give Weston a 3-0 lead after the first quarter.
The second quarter started much like the first but not quite so quick 4-0 to Weston. A slight change at the break made a difference to Saints who started to pass and play quicker creating more chances. Archie then made a great save down to his left, which Weston headed the corner over the bar under pressure from Charlie Tout. Jamie Pitter then cut inside passed to Luke Soanes who played Bertie H Lemar through on goal who cooly passed it past the keeper 4-1 Saints were now looking for the next goal working hard to shut Weston down and restricting them to long shots.
The third quarter was good from Saints chasing the next goal but also being aware how dangerous Weston were. Eloise then made a double save from two good shots keeping the score down. Saints Josh West then found Bobby Henderson who played a great defence splitting pass to Bertie H L who took it round the keeper and made it 4-2 at the break.
The fourth was getting a bit end to end Saints then Weston were creating chances but no one with the clinical finish until Luke Soanes popped up with the goal to make it 4-3, maybe the come back was on. All credit to Weston they kept playing and scored to make the game maybe out of sight 5-3. Drew Sloan then put a free kick over the bar, Weston hit the post and then a cross which bobbled across the box went under Archie Giddy for the Weston striker to tap into an empty net.
Hope you all had a safe journey home see you all again soon.
