Match Report

Lowestoft Town V Kings Lynn Elite U14

Awful weather conditions made football quite difficult on a wet and soggy pitch, but both sides still tried to play football the right way.

A tight first quarter saw Lowestoft take the lead after a good finish by Reggie Sapsford who beat a defender and then placed his shot past the oncoming keeper. Other chances followed for the home side but poor finishing meant Lowestoft could not extend their lead. Although the away side looked dangerous with some good passing movements, the home defence were well organised throughout and worked hard to prevent any clear goal scoring opportunities. Despite this, Kings Lynn did manage to equalise before the break with a long range effort that managed to beat the home keepers best efforts.

The second half saw Kings Lynn have the better of the posession with the home side having the more clear cut chances on the break. Despite missing some good opportunities Lowestoft were eventually able to claim victory when a free kick by Buddy Spall was able to beat the away goalkeeper and sneak into the far post. Lowestoft saw the game out well with some solid defending in the closing minutes to claim the victory in very testing conditions.
