Match Report
Reading City match report
A fantastic day for Reading City football club.
The game started with Reading City on the front foot and creating lots of chances without managing to find the net and were punished when Yeovil scored on the break on 18 minutes.
Half time 0-1.
On 49 minutes, Yeovil scored a second and then added a third goal on 57 minutes.
Reading looked dead and buried but they kept their heads up and kept attacking Yeovil's goal.
On 61 minutes, Reading were awarded a penalty after some clever footwork from Louis Eade led to him being brought down in the box.
Adam Goodwin slotted the penalty to the keepers left to make it 3-1.
On 67 minutes Adam scored his and Readings second with a header following a corner.
But the best was yet to come.
In the final minute of the game, Adam slid a ball to Joey Corker who made a great pass to Louis and with just the keeper to beat, showed great composure to slot past the keeper to trigger wild celebrations.
Full time 3-3.
In the penalty shootout, Leo Wilkinson was Readings hero saving 2 of Yeovils penalties to make them southern champions.
In spite of how the game panned out, fair play to Yeovil.
There was a great spirit throughout the game and they took defeat gracefully.
We wish them the best of luck for their cup game on Tuesday.
As for Reading, a fantastic turnout of support of around 150 witnessed our JPL team create a little bit of history today.
Well done to you all.
