JPL Representative Team 2022/23 Trials

Our Representative Team Programmes will be back in 2022/23, with trial dates now being confirmed.

To be involved in the representative team is an honour and privilege for those selected. Currently, the league has over 20,000 players registered with around 2000 players in each age group. Therefore, any player selected is in the top 2% of players in that specific age group. The aim of the programme is to provide the players within the league a high-quality experience at some of the worlds best academies and hopefully create a pathway for them to develop, improve and eventually progress to one of those academies. Failing that, we hope that these players leave us at U16 and progress into an education pathway that has a strong footballing programme where players have the opportunity to play within the National League and at other semi-professional levels.

Below are a list of the trials coming up for our Rep Teams:

Registrations & New Online System to be Launched

The “Off Season” is a very busy time for all involved with football, and we know a number of clubs are already in preparation for next season.

During this time there is often a lot of questions that club staff need answers to, especially those that will be joining us for the very first time. Rest assured the JPL Team have been working hard all through the year to make the next few months go as smooth as possible.

One point of note for our clubs is that all of the FA’s platforms are now back online after a period of maintenance. So please, if you haven’t already, begin the process of affiliating your club with our league on Whole Game and registering your players.

The JPL would also like to make our clubs aware that we will be moving away from the Sportlomo system. Team registrations will take place away from this site now, with a brand new purpose built system coming into action over the coming weeks.

Speaking in this month’s newsletter, CEO Martin Brock commented: “Now we have already turned to planning for next season and we have lots of very exciting developments to share with you in the coming weeks & months that will further demonstrate that this is not only the biggest, but also the best standard league in the country both on and off the pitch.”

Full details on our new registrations process, information packs and walkthroughs will be made available to club staff, parents and players imminently.

Information will be emailed to Club Secretaries and made available on our website.

A few areas of support from the FA regarding WGS can be found below:

To get started on your player registration, please log into (please log in via this method instead of the Player Registration tab in Whole Game System). Guidance on how to register a player can be found on this page.

The FA have produced self-help guides and articles via the Grassroots Knowledge Base which now includes a 24 hour answer bot to support you. There is also a live status report of all the FA systems, which will let you know if there are any current issues.

  • Player photos there is a known issue being investigated, so please use the work around detailed.
  • If your league selected online consent last season, this lasts for five seasons, so you won’t need to complete this again. Offline consent will need to be completed again, as this only lasts for one season – there is a known issue being investigated
  • Be sure to search for a player using their name and date of birth, before creating a new account. A player having more than one account could mean you don’t see an active suspension on that player, which could lead you to playing an ineligible player If you need to raise a de dupe please ensure you provide the players name, DOB and Address.
  • If you are unable to add a player to a team, check that the player has all details included (gender, DOB, email) and that the team is set up correctly (eg. a mixed youth team, if you want to include both male and female players).
  • Missing Teams – some teams have no filtered through to Club Portal. Please let us know if this happens and we will report this to IT support at the FA to investigate and resolve.

If you are still having issues in the first instance, please check the known issues page:

Player Registration Training for Clubs

In addition, the FA are running a series of sessions to help support you with navigating through Player Registration.

Goal of the Season 2021/22

After weeks of submissions and votes, our 2022 Goal of the Season has been selected!

After weeks of submissions and votes, our 2022 Goal of the Season has been selected. We are delighted to announce that Joel from PJSS Elite U14s (Goal E) has won the award having received over 1,500 votes in the final round.

We started the competition back in June when we asked you to submit your entries for ‘Goal of the Season’. After going through hundreds of different videos we narrowed the selection down to a top 30. This is when we opened up our first round of voting and you gave your opinion in your thousands!

We then had the even trickier task of counting up the votes and bringing the 30 goals down to a final 8.

The final 8 goals would see representation from Crystal Palace (Women), Dartford FC, Herald FC, Juventus Academy Devon, PJSS Elite, Pro Sports Academy, Reading City FC and Welwyn Pegasus. All 8 were very worthy of being selected for the final round of voting, but there could only be one winner.

And that winner is Joel from PJSS Elite, huge congratulations goes to him from everyone at the JPL!

League partners STATSports have provided a winning bundle which Joel will be receiving this very soon.

You can take a look at Joel’s winning goal, and the other 7 finalists, by watching the video below.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the competition, from submitting videos to voting we appreciate your support. Also our thanks go to our wonderful league partners STATSports for providing the winning prizes.
